Indigenous Women’s Entrepreneur Series

At Akaitcho BDC we focus on several different services to get your business up and running.

Entrepreneurship represents a promising pathway for Indigenous women to enrich their lives, strengthen their families and participate in the development of their communities.

The Indigenous Women Entrepreneurship (IWE) Program focuses on developing the tools, resources, and supports for Indigenous women to build or grow their businesses.

Business Planning

Entrepreneurs must understand how prepared they are to start or launch their business.

The National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association (NACCA), and the network of Aboriginal Financial Institutions (AFIs) across Canada with input from Indigenous women entrepreneurs have developed a self-assessment guide for Indigenous women to take steps toward their entrepreneurship vision. This guide provides insight into how prepared you are to start or launch your business.

A business plan is essential to help you decide how you will run your business. It is also used to show the value and viability of your business to others who may invest in or finance your business. This guide helps you understand how much your business plan is complete and ready to share with investors.

Financial Capacity Support

We have included resources provided by the National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association (NACCA) and the Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC) Be The Drum program that will assist you in the financial planning of your business.
