At Akaitcho BDC we focus on several different financial services to get your business up and running.

Loans up to $200,000

One of the objectives of Akaitcho BDC is to provide financial assistance and advisory services to new, existing, and expanding small businesses that will create new jobs for residents of the communities of Yellowknife, N’dilo, and Dettah. Akaitcho BDC administers an Investment Fund that is used to provide repayable loans to eligible businesses to a maximum of $200,000 per business.

Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs Micro-Loan

Launched in 2022, through the Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs (IWE) program, Indigenous women have access to dedicated Business Support Officers, routine workshops and training, and micro-loans to help kick start and grow their businesses.

The IWE Micro-loan and Contribution is available to individuals, businesses, and corporations that are majority owned by Indigenous women. This program provides repayable micro-loans up to $20,000 plus a non-repayable contribution (when available).

Women Entrepreneur Loan Fund

An additional Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs (IWE) program is the Women Entrepreneur Loan Fund (WELF). This programs is offered to indigenous businesses that are over 50% women own. A repayable loan is available up to $50,000.
